kHIL

What it is? Just thought I would drop in and say HI! Sooooo...Rick Whispers and I have been working on his next album, and I must say it is coming along very well. The recording is pretty much finished expect for some little things here and there. This album is a banger for sure, Rick stepped his sh** up!, he has been in rare form as of late with writing.

Coming soon I have a new EP called "Rememory of my Beloved". I am going to be sampling some of my favorite songs, and messing around with the song structures and arrangements. And yes, I will be telling you the names of the the sampled songs and the artists, so if you want to flip that sh** different and send it to me, that's COOL!
I am also getting t-shirts soon so, if you buy a shirt you get an EP. Doing the artwork for both of these is my wonderful, and extremely talented girlfriend Sara Durocher. Go check her out on myspace, her work is very diverse and interesting and I am lucky to be working with her.

Also lately, I have been reading...a LOT! And I am getting 2 more this weekend, I am so excited.
Books I have read so far...

Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut
American Psycho by Brett Eaton Ellis
Selected Poems of Langston Hughes
Selected Poems of Dorthy Parker
Selected Poems of Robert Frost
Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller
The Art of War by Sun Tzu
Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Steven King
and now I am reading Watchmen again, and buying The Killing Joke, and another not yet known!

PEACE and be safe.

Sev Statik - The Point Man

It's already June and I still hear fools talking about getting record deals and opening up for Billy Joel. Sick world we live in. With 2008 half dead, and a movie about a Panda that knows Kung-Fu about to take over theatres, I hope you rappers and wanna-be rap/rockers are awake for the rest of the "0 h8tred". I am. And have been.

In Oct. 2007 my friend, DJ Dust, and I released the album 'Back to Dust' through the infamous Rawkus records imprint (Company Flow, Mos Def). Still the album to beat, Back to Dust was featured on iTunes twice and rated the #1 download for the independent hip hop genre beating out J-Dilla and Sean Price. Now Back to Dust is being re-released through Chosen/Universal records, but this time w/ a live band on the backdrop. More to follow on that later this year...

June 2008 we can finally talk about the album w/ Rick Whispers, Sev Statik and DJ Tone - Body Language "All Up In Yer Grill Piece"!!!! A full record w/ a few guest appearances and definitely a few very dope producers. We plan on releasing this independently through our digital means via our websites and dropcards. This album will not be on iTunes, Amazon or any other digital site... you'll have to kop it from one of us at a show or our sites later this month. AND on June 26th you can catch Body Language in rare form at Bogies in Albany performing tunes from our new album. Do it!

This year has been very busy for me already. I have a new full length album called 'Shotgun' about to wrap up for a July 22nd release. With guest features from Playdough, Eternia and Manasseh this album is packed w/ super dope "Wu" type production. We aiming for the Illuminati on this one, people! Also in the works is an EP w/ producer Lazerbeak of Doomtree fame. Beats are chosen. Hooks are written. Studio is yet to be booked, but later this year, after fall kisses summer goodbye, I will be talking junk into a new popper stopper!

Check out my digital store currently being established.

The '09 is already being mapped out. Stake your claim.

Carry on.

Believe it or not I have not been laying dormant. I have been busy planning some big things as well as working on them

I am picking up where I left on in the writing and recording Process of my second full length album Peace Keeper. The production of the album is being handled by 2007 Scribble Jam producer battle champ X:144 as well as Swam of Soliloquist Of Sound. This album has no boundries and takes no prisoners. It is much more abrasive, personal, fun, and creative on all levels.

Also I have recently recorded a brand new studio track with my good friend and label mate Rick Whispers. The song is produced by Lazerbeak of the Minneapolis Doomtree Crew. You may have heard some of his beats on the albums of Mac Lethal, P.O.S., Sims, and many more. The song will be available this summer on a digital download compilation released through Courage Crew records. I will keep everyone updated on info on this release as I get it, but from what I have seen as far as who is on the comp it is very exciting!

Speaking of working with Rick Whispers we have the wheels set in motion to release a new joint effort project in 2009 produced by F Sean Martin of Hatebreed. Yes, you just read that correctly, so get excited about it.

In the mean time head to my page, check out the music including the new remix I did for my good friends American Me of their track "Said Nothing, Began Firing."

More updates coming as I get them. Until then feel free to contact me with any questions or anything. thanks for reading and supporting.

GAINING GROUND

GXG here and we got some action in the works coming very soon,

Right now were gearing up for a 2 week east coast summer tour with Ghost Hunt in July. This will be our third tour and their first, so its gonna be a blast. We also have a little lineup change. Ben former drumer of transitions and current drummer of final friday and xreptarx is our new drummer as of about a month ago. He filled in on a couple weekends over the winter and things clicked (literally).

Besides all that, We are recording for a new 7inch May 30th, 31st and June 1st. We have 4 new songs in the works, quite a bit faster...quite a bit more thought out...quite a.. a...a.. i could keep going, but in our minds its prolly the best stuff weve ever written.. Were still putting the finishing touches on these bad boys, but i think they're going to translate really well live. Our friend rob is putting out the record and if all things go as planned (which they never do) it should be out around Mid July (right in time for tour) so be on the lookout.
